Trinity Sunday!

Does anyone have any thoughts. I am just burnt out this week and the thought of having to think about Sunday has given me a few hives. Technically, I have been taking vacation days to farm, but I still have to think about Sundays. So, I have to take some time to make sure worship is together. It is starting to rain, so I am home right now, trying to catch up around the house a bit.
So, I send out my plea. If anyone has any thoughts about the upcoming Sunday. Let me know.
Ugh.

I think, just be honest. Try as we might we'll never understand the trinity. I mean, seriously, Three in One? That's like an ad for a shampoo, conditioner, mousse contraption or something. But an eternal being who created, died and blesses things all at the same time? How messed up is that?

It's all about faith. There's no way to comprehend the trinity, you just need faith and believe.

Or you could go into the fact that there may not be a trinity and that it was just a way for those of old to explain what the spirit was since no one has a clue about that. So they came up with the trinity. Maybe there's really sixteen parts and the other 13 are so uncomprehendible that God just blessed us with the three He thought we could handle. :)

Or just have the kids in the congregation go around blowing on people and telling them they've just received the holy spirit - because we all know children are angels and the true epitome of Godliness. ;)

How's that? Did I muddle you more?

Bless you for trying. I have worship put together, at least. I will get the sermon done...eventually.
Thanks for the inspiration. If anything, knowing that someone else doesn't have a clue is comforting.
I am off to the volunteer appreciation reception a the nursing home now. I am a volunteer and for some reason, they appreciate me. I'm going for the cake. Usually angel food with strawberries. YAY!

what's funny is we were talking about this two weeks ago in adult ed at church and my pastor kept trying to explain that to people (this and heaven) that we don't know what it is, we never will know and try as we might it's just way beyond our comprehension. Faith and belief. Those are the important things (which are also sometimes hard to understand). Good luck!
